The Goal of Cub Scouting at St. Veronica Parish & School: To provide an opportunity for parents to actively reinforce and strengthen traditional Catholic values while boys both learn, have fun, and make friends. Cub Scout Organization - Rank
- 1st graders are Tiger Cubs (or age 7)
- 2nd graders are Wolf Cubs (or age 8)
- 3rd graders are Bear Cubs (or age 9)
- 4th graders are 1st Year Webelos (or age 10)
- 5th graders are 2nd Year Webelos
- Den
- A grouping of 4-8 boys at the same rank
- Dens meet 1-3 times a month
- Den meetings at homes or classrooms
- Pack
- The grouping of all of the Dens and adult volunteers.
- Pack meets once each month

- We will emphasize working towards religious awards with medals presented at Mass for parish wide recognition.
Parent’s Role in Scouting - This is OUR Pack
- The only way for the Pack program to happen and have an impact in the lives of our boys is US!
- We need the talents of everyone
- The leaders are all here because we want all of our boys to have a great scouting experience.
- All of us need to support the Pack Program.
- There are also several volunteer positions open. Please sign up and join the fun!
Why be a Cub Scout Leader? Being a Leader does take time. However, consider the benefits: - Help all the Cub Scouts grow and mature, physically, mentally, socially, spiritually

Other Parent Information - Attendance: Parents should:
- Ensure Scout regularly attends den and pack meetings.
- Ensure Scout attends “special” events and activities
- Attend activities with their Scout
- Most Pack activities are open to the entire family
- Behavior & Discipline Problems: A Scout'’s behavior is the responsibility of his Parent(s).
- A leader will ask the Scout once to correct his behavior.
- If the Scout doesnIf doesn’’t correct the problem, the parent will be asked to intervene.
- Parents’s are expected to address the behavior problem immediately, or remove the Scout from the event.

- Not all advancement can or should be done in den meetings
- Use the ideas in the handbook for family activities
- Attend Pack/Den Meetings with Cub Scout
